Can Tho - On November 28, the Border Guard Command, Can Tho City Military Command held the closing ceremony of the 2025 defense area exercise.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Tran Van Le - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Border Guard (BDBP); Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City; leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee of Can Tho City; departments, branches, sectors, the City Military Command; delegates of functional agencies of Military Region 9 and the Border Guard Command.

According to the assessment of the Organizing Committee of the Border Guard Command's defense area drill, the Can Tho City Military Command in 2025 has completed the planned content and program, achieved the set goals and requirements, and ensured absolute safety in all aspects. The organization, preparation and practice of defensive operations are carried out in accordance with the working order of advising on operations, flexibly applying theoretical principles, in accordance with the practical conditions of the City's armed forces in general and the Border Guard Command in particular.

This is a pre-process exercise for the Border Guard Commands of provinces in Military Region 9 to learn from experience in implementing tasks in the coming time, and is also a new type of defensive combat exercise after implementing the two-level local government and perfecting the organization of the Border Guard force.

Colonel Pham Le Xuan Binh - Deputy Commander of the Can Tho City Military Command and Commander of the Can Tho City Border Guard - said: The main task of the City Border Guard Command is to coordinate and closely coordinate with functional forces in the area to practice fighting the enemy in communes and wards in the coastal border area, firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty and security of the city's maritime border.

One of the important reinforcement contents is the situation of "S fleet 2 of the Border Guard coordinating with functional forces at sea to practice pushing and chasing foreign fishing vessels encroaching on the sea area of Can Tho City". When performing this task, the departments coordinated smoothly, demonstrating their cleverness, flexibility but determination, demonstrating the Border Guard's professional qualifications and ability to handle situations at sea.

In this content, forces using a large quantity of air superior warheads should require very careful preparation of forces, sports fields, weapons, equipment, training, practice, command and control, and coordination.

In the process of performing their tasks, the Border Guard, militia, and self-defense forces... have united, collaborated closely, overcome difficulties, complete their tasks well, and ensure absolute safety. Thereby affirming the quality of training and exercises of the armed forces of Can Tho City in general and the Border Guard of Can Tho City in particular.

Through this exercise, the command, consultation, and coordination of the Border Guard Command and the coordination between the Border Guard Command and the commune-level locality in defensive operations were improved. At the same time, it also drew practical lessons; as a basis for continuing to consolidate and build the situation and activities of the defense zone associated with the implementation of local government at both levels; meeting the requirements and tasks of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.
