Lam Dong Border Guard and Mondulkiri Police cooperate to maintain border security

Lam Dong - The Border Guard Command of Lam Dong province and the Mondulkiri Provincial Police Department (Cambodia) strengthen cooperation and maintain security in the border area.

On October 20, in Nam Gia Nghia ward, Lam Dong province, the delegation of the Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard Command and the delegation of the Mondulkiri Provincial Police Department (Cambodia) jointly held a meeting to summarize the results of cooperation in maintaining security and order in the border area in 2025 and agreed on the direction of cooperation in 2026.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dinh, Deputy Commander of the Military Command and Commander of the Border Guard Command of Lam Dong province and Lieutenant General Lor So Kha, Director of the Mondulkiri Provincial Police Department co-chaired the meeting.

In an atmosphere of affection, solidarity, friendship and cooperation, the two sides agreed to evaluate the coordination results in the past time.

Accordingly, in 2025, the Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard Command and the Mondulkiri Provincial Police Department regularly informed and exchanged information and situations related to territorial sovereignty, border security, activities of subjects and all types of crimes violating the law of Vietnam and Cambodia.

The two sides also coordinated to effectively prevent and suppress all types of crimes such as trafficking in women and children, taking people across the border, trading in weapons, explosives and economic crimes as well as other crimes operating in the border area of the two provinces.

Strengthen propaganda and education for people in border areas to comply with and properly implement the Treaties and Protocols on demarcating land borders signed by the Governments of the two countries.

Raising awareness of crime prevention and control, managing the system of markers, stamp stakes, and cooperating in providing information on crimes in the area and border areas.

To continue to perform well the tasks in 2026, the two sides discussed and agreed on a number of contents such as: Coordinating the implementation of meetings and talks to inform, discuss the situation and organize patrols at the same time, strictly manage borders and border gates; prevent illegal entry and exit activities.

Mondulkiri Provincial Police promptly informed and discussed with Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard when Cambodia implemented activities to renew the border belt road and build new border protection checkpoints.

Direct agencies and units to facilitate the circulation and trade of goods through the two border gates of Dak Puer - Nam Lea, Bu P'rang - Dak Dam to contribute to the socio-economic development of both sides of the border of Lam Dong - Mondulkiri province.
