In the first days of the new year, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters followed the mobile propaganda team of Muong Cai Border Guard Station uphill to a remote village of Chieng Khoong commune.
The winding dirt road, mist covering the mountainside. The motorbike with a loudspeaker slowly rolls. The content about the election day echoes in the quiet mountains and forests.

When visiting each house, border guard officers stopped to inquire and compare voter lists. Border Guard soldiers clearly stated the time and location of the vote. As for households going to work in the fields, they asked the village head to help propagate.
Some elderly people do not understand, officials patiently explain with simple, easy-to-remember words. Small things, but requiring accuracy and high responsibility. That is also the way the green-uniformed soldier contributes to preventing any voter from being missed.

The entire Son La border guard force currently manages and protects 250 km of border lines, in charge of 13 border communes.
The area is large, the population is dispersed, and transportation is still difficult in many places. Towards the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, the Border Guard of Son La province tightens personnel. Protection plans are deployed synchronously, proactively, and ready for election day.
The Provincial Border Guard Command has developed a combat readiness plan; coordinated with localities to protect key targets, agency headquarters, election teams and polling stations. The work of grasping the local situation and public opinion is maintained regularly and continuously.
Colonel Pham Tung Lam, Political Commissar of Son La Provincial Border Guard, affirmed: "The election work is being implemented according to plan, close to the reality of the border area. Security and order assurance plans are being carefully and comprehensively prepared.
Not only maintaining security, the units also promote propaganda, mainly in the form of going to villages and mobile motorbikes.
Since the beginning of the year, the force has organized 65 propaganda sessions for more than 10,000 people; implemented 41 mobile propaganda sessions with a total duration of 82 hours. Many officials understand the area, speak ethnic languages, and directly go to the village to mobilize people.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Giap, Political Commissar of Muong Leo Border Guard Station, said: "We re-edit documents in a concise, people-friendly, and easy-to-understand language. Officers go down to the village, implementing '4 together' so that people understand their rights and obligations.
Soldier Lo Van Bac, Chieng Son Border Guard Station, shared: "Each officer and soldier is clearly informed of their tasks before, during and after the election. This is an honor, and also a responsibility, we are determined to contribute to ensuring safety for the festival of the whole people.
In parallel with propaganda, working groups strictly maintain duty, patrol, and border control regimes. Mobile propaganda teams are ready to support special voters to the polling station on time.

Along the 250 km long border line, the green uniform of soldiers still persistently sticks to the village, sticks to the people. Silent steps, going to each highland village, knocking on each door to propagate and review voters. All for a common goal, so that election day truly becomes a festival for the people in the borderland of the Fatherland.
