On June 21, in To Chau ward, An Giang province, the Command (BTL) of Coast Guard Region 4 coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Party Committee - People's Committee of To Chau Ward to organize the "Coast Guard Accompanying Fishermen" Program. More than 300 officials, people, fishermen, fishing boat owners, and students participated.
At the program, Coast Guard Region 4 Command has propagated and disseminated to the people, especially fishing boat owners and fishermen in To Chau ward, about the provisions of law related to the sea and islands; on preventing and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) seafood exploitation; regulations on preventing and combating the harmful effects of drugs. At the same time, coordinate to organize well social security activities in the area such as: Giving gifts to fishermen and students, organizing marine environmental sanitation...
Speaking at the Program, Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong - Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 4 Command emphasized: The program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" is an activity to concretize the Party's mass mobilization work in the new situation, is a bridge between the Vietnam Coast Guard force and the people, contributing to strengthening the military-civilian solidarity, promoting patriotism, love for the sea and islands, raising people's awareness of responsibility in the cause of protecting sovereignty, security, safety of the sea and islands and building a solid "People's heart battle", "People's security battle" at sea.
On this occasion, Coast Guard Region 4 Command presented 50 gifts (including national flags, Uncle Ho's photos, life jackets) to 50 vehicle owners and fishing boats; 30 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to 30 policy families, poor households, near-poor households and 20 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to 20 students in difficult circumstances who have risen up in their studies.
