Mr. Thieu said that in 2024, Bac Lieu achieved and exceeded 17/21 annual plan targets. Economic growth was quite good, with an increase of 6.62%, ranking 10th/13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. The economic structure continued to shift in the right direction; budget revenue was nearly 4,200 billion VND, exceeding the estimate by 7%; export turnover reached 1.18 billion USD, up 18%...
Currently, Bac Lieu province has 8 wind power projects with a total capacity of nearly 470 MW operating stably, ranking 3rd in the country. The work of building new rural areas has achieved many positive results. The socio-economic infrastructure is increasingly synchronized; the appearance of the countryside is increasingly spacious and renewed.
Cultural and social fields are focused on and harmoniously linked with the economy; people's lives continue to improve. Poverty reduction and social security are actively implemented and achieve good results. National defense and security are strengthened; social order and safety are maintained.
Besides, the patriotic emulation movement in the province was well organized and implemented; during the year, 56 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements were commended by the President and Prime Minister.
