On August 24, the police of Chu A Thai commune, Gia Lai province, said that, implementing the peak period of attacking and suppressing crime, the unit had mobilized local people to voluntarily hand over 12 homemade alcohol guns and 1 homemade knife.
In the past, the commune police force has organized 5 mobile propaganda sessions, focusing on mobilization work in the rice fields, where people mainly work to make a living during the day.
Some local people are used to using guns to hunt for animals and protect crops. However, keeping weapons poses a potential risk to security and order.
In addition to organizing meetings at the house and the commune cultural house, the police also issued propaganda and warnings about the dangers of homemade guns and explosives on the grassroots loudspeaker system.
Chu A Thai Commune Police called on all people to exercise vigilance, actively participate in detecting and denouncing crimes; at the same time, encourage relatives and neighbors to hand over weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks.
