Not only ensuring security and order, the Son La Provincial Police force also directly supports people in highland and border areas when incidents and natural disasters occur. In complex terrain conditions and difficult travel, many officers and soldiers have participated in rescuing people, helping people overcome the consequences, contributing to stabilizing life at the grassroots level, according to VNA.
On April 28, receiving news that Ms. Ha Thi Tinh (born in 1988, residing in Co Cai village, To Mua commune, Son La province) suffered severe leg injuries, with signs of paralysis, unable to walk, To Mua Commune Police urgently mobilized forces and vehicles, coordinated with functional forces and people to take the victim to the emergency room.
Without specialized vehicles, functional forces used hammocks, taking turns carrying Ms. Tinh across forests and streams for many hours to reach medical facilities.
Ms. Ha Thi Tinh shared: "At that time, I was in pain, unable to walk, and my family was confused. If it weren't for the police, militia, and people who took me to the emergency room in time, I don't know what would have happened.
Lieutenant Dinh Van Soan - an officer of To Mua Commune Police said that as soon as he received the news, the unit determined to approach as quickly as possible, coordinate with local forces to support, and put the task of protecting people's lives and health first.
Recently, on May 1st, in Phieng Khoai commune (Son La province), hailstorms accompanied by thunderstorms caused damage to houses and crops. According to the People's Committee of Phieng Khoai commune, natural disasters damaged more than 1.5 hectares of hậu plums, affecting 24 households and some works.

Immediately after the incident, Phieng Khoai Commune Police coordinated with local forces to quickly approach the scene, grasp the situation, and support people to overcome the consequences. Lieutenant Colonel Lu Hong Vinh - Head of Phieng Khoai Commune Police said: "Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, we quickly approached the area, supporting people. With the motto "people are the root", the force mobilized maximum troops to help people soon stabilize their lives.
Colonel Hoang Vinh Hien - Deputy Director of Son La Provincial Police - assessed that the timely actions of the police of To Mua and Phieng Khoai communes are proof of the effectiveness of the "Three Bests" emulation movement: "Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People".
According to him, "closest to the people" must be expressed through specific actions, especially when people face difficulties. The fact that officers and soldiers do not mind hardship, are ready to cross forests and streams to save people, and support disaster recovery has clearly shown the spirit of responsibility and bravery of the grassroots police force.
Each officer and soldier must always clearly define their role and responsibility, putting the interests of the people first," Colonel Hoang Vinh Hien emphasized.
In the coming time, Son La Provincial Police will continue to promote the emulation movement, build a strong commune police force, close to the people, promptly solve arising problems, contributing to maintaining security and order and consolidating people's trust.
