Lao Cai Provincial Police have just launched a peak period of general review, mobilizing all people to hand over and fight against crimes and violations of the law on weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks in the area.

The peak period of general review, mobilizing the entire population to hand over and fight against crimes and violations of the law on weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks in Lao Cai province will last until October 30, then continue to be maintained regularly.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, in parallel with the above peak period, the police forces of the communes have organized many propaganda sessions in villages, especially in areas far from the center, to raise people's awareness of crime prevention and control, ensuring security and order.

Major Luong Huu Cuc - Deputy Head of Mau A Commune Police shared: "From July 29 to August 13, the unit has promoted and mobilized people to voluntarily hand over 16 homemade guns and 37 primitive weapons. This is a positive signal showing a clear change in people's awareness and actions in voluntarily complying with the law".

In Xuan Hao commune, with the motto "Go to every alley, knock on every door, check every person", the commune police have closely coordinated with departments, branches, unions and propaganda departments of the commune People's Committee, organizing many direct propaganda sessions in villages and hamlets.

Information about legal regulations and warnings about the consequences of illegal storage and use of weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks is also broadcast regularly on the loudspeaker system.

Thanks to the synchronous method, 8 citizens in the commune voluntarily handed over 8 homemade guns.

In order to encourage and motivate people to voluntarily comply with the law, Xuan Hoa Commune Police have coordinated with Ngoc Dung electronics store to give helmets and life jackets to individuals who proactively hand over homemade weapons.

In Dong Cuong, the commune police force organized direct propaganda in villages and hamlets to disseminate legal regulations on the management and use of weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks; emphasizing the harmful effects and risks of illegal storage and use of weapons.

At the propaganda sessions, people were encouraged to sign a commitment not to violate and voluntarily hand over weapons and explosives in their possession.

In addition, the Commune Police have stepped up propaganda through the loudspeaker system, social networks (zalo, Facebook) and to each household to mobilize and persuade.

After the first 10 days of deployment, Dong Cuong Commune Police received 30 homemade guns and many other primitive weapons voluntarily handed over by the people.

Similarly, from July 25 to now, Van Ban Commune Police have mobilized people to voluntarily hand over 43 guns; Nghia Tam Commune Police have recovered 87 guns of all kinds and primitive weapons...

In the coming time, the police of communes in Lao Cai will continue to closely coordinate with the forces at the grassroots level to promote propaganda and mobilize people to hand over homemade weapons to contribute to ensuring security and order in the area.
