Propaganda for effective prevention

On July 12, according to Ia Hrung Commune Police, Gia Lai province, the work of fighting and preventing drugs in the area still faces many difficulties but has achieved certain results.

In which, the coordination with reputable people, village elders, and village chiefs in mobilizing and propagating youth to stay away from drugs and social evils has brought positive effects.

Along with the work of fighting and cracking down on drug-related cases, propaganda and early and remote prevention are the key tasks of Ia Hrung Commune Police.

According to statistics, in the first 6 months of 2026, the Commune Police organized more than 25 propaganda sessions with more than 3,800 participants; organized more than 120 patrols; summoned and deterred 138 subjects, especially teenagers with suspicious signs related to drugs.

At the same time, the Police force has done a good job of prevention, mobilization, and coordination with families to manage children and relatives who have made mistakes in using drugs.

Thereby, promptly identifying the addiction status, detecting, supporting and preparing dossiers to send eligible cases to compulsory detoxification according to the provisions of law.

Prosecuting and cracking down on many drug cases

Also in the first 6 months of this year, Ia Hrung Commune Police discovered and arrested 4 cases of illegal drug trading and organizing illegal drug use, and prosecuted 11 related defendants.

The commune police have handled administrative violations in 2 cases of illegal drug use, and at the same time discovered and sent 7 cases for compulsory detoxification.

During the peak period of responding to the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control, on June 17, the Commune Police deployed forces to catch red-handed 4 subjects organizing the illegal use of drugs including: Puih Hlu (born 2005, residing in Jut 2 village, Ia Hrung commune), Puih Nik (born 1999, residing in Pleikuroh village, Dien Hong ward), Puih Tu (born 2002, residing in Jut 1 village, Ia Hrung commune) and Siu So (born 2005, residing in Brel village, Ia Hrung commune); seized 2.08g of methamphetamine and many drug use tools.

Implementing the plan to build a model of communes and wards without drugs of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, in the coming time, Ia Hrung Commune Police will continue to promote propaganda in residential areas; and at the same time closely coordinate with village heads and elders to propagate to each household.
