Da Nang brings mobile health stations to the highlands of Ben Giang commune

Da Nang - More than 1,000 people in Ben Giang commune (old Nam Giang district) received free medical examinations, medicine and gifts.

In order to improve health care for people in disadvantaged areas, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of Da Nang City has implemented a humanitarian medical examination and treatment program in Ben Giang commune.

Implementing the policy of ensuring social security and health care for people, especially in remote areas, from July 14 to 24, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of Da Nang City coordinated with the VHC and the ASSORV (Vietnam Orphanage Support Association in France) to implement a volunteer program for the community in Ben Giang commune - an area formerly in Ca Dy commune, Nam Giang (former Quang Nam province).

Taking place at Ca dy - Ta Bhing Secondary Boarding School, the program has brought medical examination and treatment activities, distributing free medicine to more than 1,000 local people.

Here, people receive general examination, vision measurement, cataract surgery, dental examination, physical therapy, health consultation and free medicine and gifts. In addition, 1,000 gifts (each worth 300,000 VND) were given to the people, with a total value of the program of up to 1.7 billion VND.

Notably, the city's youth union has directly taken on many meaningful tasks such as logistical support, medical examination instructions, to supporting interpretation for people who do not use common languages... thereby demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism of the city's youth in the cause of caring for people in disadvantaged areas.

With the message "No one should be left behind in the journey of community health care", the activity continues to affirm the role of the Youth Union - Association in effectively implementing social security programs, actively contributing to the sustainable and comprehensive development of Da Nang city in the renovation period.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Kim Thuong - Head of the Department of Labor, Youth Union and Children of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union - emphasized: "In the journey for the community, the free medical examination and treatment activities organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Da Nang City Youth Union have become a bright spot of humanity, spreading love to those who are still in difficulty. On the roads of remote areas, where medical conditions are still lacking, the image of doctors and nurses volunteering to wear white blouses, carrying medicine bags, smiles and enthusiastic hearts, has left deep impressions in the hearts of the people".

Mr. Thuong affirmed that this is not simply a volunteer activity, but also a vivid testament to the sense of responsibility, compassion and the will to live beautifully and usefully of the young generation of Da Nang today.

Those simple actions will contribute to building a humane, united, responsible and sustainable society, he said.
