Quang Tri - The Bo Trach Social Policy Bank Transaction Office disbursed nearly 6 billion VND in preferential capital, helping the Ma Coong people develop their economy.

On August 11, the Bo Trach Social Policy Bank (Quang Tri province) Transaction Office (VBSP) said that it had implemented many preferential credit programs, disbursing nearly 6 billion VND to support ethnic minorities in Ma Coong to develop production, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.

As of mid-2025, the unit has lent 7 credit programs with a total outstanding loan balance of 5.86 billion VND, serving 421 households. The capital is mainly concentrated in lending programs for ethnic minority households according to Decision 32/QD-TTg, vocational conversion loans according to Decree 28/2022/ND-CP, loans for poor households and other policy credit programs.

Since the beginning of the year, a total of 831 households have received loans, including 774 Ma Coong households.

In Thuong Trach commune, where over 90% of the population is Ma Coong people, preferential credit capital has helped many households develop their economy.

A typical example is Ms. Y Van's household, in 2021, borrowed 50 million VND from the program for a newly escaped poverty household to buy 2 breeding cows. Up to now, the herd has developed to 7 cows, bringing in an income of about 170 million VND. The family sold calves to reinvest, combined with raising more than 50 chickens and geese, earning an additional 20 million VND per year.

Currently, the People's Credit Fund of Bo Trach is implementing loans for poor households, near-poor households, households escaping poverty, ethnic minority households, loans for job conversion and production and business households in disadvantaged areas.

In the coming time, the unit will identify policy credit for ethnic minority households with special difficulties as a key political task.

The bank will proactively coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and socio-political organizations to receive the trust to expand borrowers; increase propaganda, guide people to develop production plans; encourage investment in afforestation, livestock farming, and develop models suitable to local conditions.

Along with that, the People's Bank of Bo Trach focuses resources on effective models, increasing income and stabilizing people's lives. Transaction activities in the commune will continue to be maintained and quality will be improved, ensuring the best service for people in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas.
