Thousands of Quang Ngai households have spacious accommodation

Quang Ngai - More than 2,800 temporary houses have been repaired and rebuilt, contributing to helping people have a solid place to live, work with peace of mind and stabilize their lives.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Quang Ngai province has eliminated more than 2,800 temporary and dilapidated houses. Currently, the locality is constructing more than 2,300 houses, reaching a rate of nearly 79% of the total number of houses in need of support.

Quang Ngai has two localities that have completed the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, namely Ba To district and Son Tay district. The remaining localities with high completion rates include: Tu Nghia district reached 97%, Son Ha district 96%, Duc Pho town and Minh Long district all reached over 95%.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province has received more than 45 billion VND out of a total of more than 242 billion VND supported by agencies, units and enterprises, and has allocated nearly 40 billion VND to localities to support households.

In Son Tay district, after only 4 months since the launch of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, the whole district has had 617 new, spacious and solid houses handed over to people for use, helping them have a safe place to live, feel secure in economic development and build a prosperous life.

Mr. Dinh Van Hoi, in Ba He village, Son Tinh commune, Son Tay district, confided: "For the past ten years, my family has lived in a dilapidated house, the heat is so hot that it is leaky, and the rain is so dilapidated. Now, with the valuable support of the State through the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, along with the cooperation of local authorities and people, I have built a spacious house, helping my wife and I feel secure in doing business and trying to escape poverty."

The Steering Committee deployed to delete temporary houses and dilapidated houses of Quang Ngai province to request the presidents of the People's Committee of the district and commune levels - especially localities with low implementation rates - need to drastically accelerate the implementation progress, complete the erasing of temporary houses and dilapidated houses in all programs and projects over time that districts, towns and cities committed. In particular, priority is given to the implementation of housing support for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs.

Quang Ngai province is focusing on completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 30, 2025, 2 months ahead of the Prime Minister's request, which is before October 31, 2025.
