Reporting to the Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Ha at the working session on the afternoon of November 5, Nam Giang district said that in the period of 2021 - 2023, the whole district has reduced 1,330 poor households, an average reduction of 6.49%/year; the locality has arranged and stabilized the population for 242 households; eliminated 596 temporary houses from programs and policies of the Central and the province.

Mr. Chau Van Ngo - Vice Chairman of Nam Giang district - said that Nam Giang is a mountainous district of Quang Nam, currently about 80% of the population are ethnic minorities, living with many difficulties. In recent years, poverty reduction work has always been focused on by authorities at all levels of Nam Giang district in a sustainable manner, especially in terms of income and quality of life.
"This result is also a stepping stone for the whole district to strive to reduce 690 more poor households by 2025, bringing the number of poor households down to 1,963 households, reaching the rate of 25% according to the Resolution of the District People's Council" - Mr. Ngo assessed.
According to the plan, in 2024, Nam Giang district will organize 12 job consulting floors for workers in localities, striving to have more than 1,000 workers receive job counseling.
The total capital of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2024 allocated to Nam Giang district is more than 119.3 billion VND.

At the meeting, Nam Giang district proposed that the Central Government and the province soon have a plan to repair National Highway 14D from Ben Giang to Nam Giang International Border Gate.
In addition, it is necessary to invest in infrastructure of Nam Giang International Border Gate Economic Zone; equip modern technical means to improve the quality and efficiency of immigration and import-export inspection and control, promote socio-economic development in the district and the region.
