According to information from veterans and local people, Team K92 conducted a field survey and organized a search for remains from September 18 to October 1, 2024. As a result, 19 sets of remains were collected and exhumed in Binh Dong Hamlet, Binh An Commune, Kien Luong District.
The K92 Martyr Remains Excavation and Collection Team, Kien Giang Provincial Military Command, has planned to survey and organize a search for mass graves of martyrs in the above area. According to local people, this is the area of the Monkey Hamlet Cemetery (old). Local authorities and people have also exhumed the remains of martyrs many times, but some are still left.
According to many sources from the people and the management staff of the old cemetery here, the cemetery was formed during the Southwestern border war. Before the cemetery was formed, in this area, there were some remains of martyrs buried in the years 1972 - 1973 belonging to Division 1, General Department of Advice. The cemetery was exhumed and relocated, but there are still some left, until now Team K92 continues to organize the search and collection.
Despite many difficulties due to the long time and many changes in the search location, all officers and soldiers tried their best and were determined. After nearly a month of active searching, the team discovered and recovered 19 sets of martyrs' remains along with some artifacts such as pieces of plastic, mats, clothes, etc.
