Leaders of Tam Xuan commune, Da Nang overcome floodwaters to give relief gifts to isolated people

Da Nang - Tam Xuan commune leaders and forces used boats to overcome the flood, handing out hundreds of relief gifts to people who have been isolated for many days.

On November 4, leaders of Tam Xuan commune, along with the police force, the commune commune team, and Tam Thanh Border Guard Station directly visited and presented support gifts to households in Phu Dong village that are currently deeply flooded and isolated due to heavy rain in recent days.

The group traveled by boat to each household directly to personally hand gifts to households in Phu Dong village. In this first phase, Tam Xuan commune presented 220 boxes of instant noodles to 220 households that were deeply flooded and isolated.

These gifts were purchased from the support fund of the People's Committee of Da Nang City under Decision No. 2335/QD-UBND, dated November 3, 2025, approving additional targets for communes and wards to provide emergency support to overcome the consequences of natural disasters (phase 1).

According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Dan - Chairman of Tam Xuan Commune People's Committee, during the flood last week, the whole commune had 800 houses with more than 3,000 people flooded from 0.3-1m. In Phu Dong village alone, 220 houses with 850 people were flooded from 1m to 1.7m deep, and are still isolated.

There were 2 completely damaged houses. The area of annual crops damaged was about 10 hectares, and about 4 hectares of vegetables of all kinds were flooded. The area of the brackish water fish pond was damaged by 0.15 hectares. The area of the shrimp pond was damaged by 0.75 hectares. Cages for raising all kinds of aquatic products were swept away, causing total damage to 5,670 m3. The total estimated damage is more than 9 billion VND.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms and floods have caused many deaths, missing and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
