On December 12, a working delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), central ministries and branches led by Deputy Minister of MARD Tran Thanh Nam worked with Nam Dinh province on the results of the implementation of the pilot project to build a model advanced new-style rural district of the province.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam acknowledged and highly appreciated the drastic, creative, effective and effective ways and results that Nam Dinh province has achieved in implementing the national target program on building new rural areas. At the same time, he affirmed that building new rural areas in general, advanced and exemplary new rural areas must aim at and achieve the goal of building peaceful rural areas, ensuring security and order, safe living environment, bright - green - beautiful, contributing to improving the enjoyment and quality of life of rural people. The construction of the National Criteria for exemplary new rural areas is being drafted and developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with central ministries, departments and branches in that direction.
Nam Dinh is currently one of the leading localities in the country in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas. As of December 2024, the whole province had 142/146 communes meeting advanced new rural standards (97.2%); 41/146 communes meeting exemplary new rural standards (28.1%); 8/15 towns recognized as meeting civilized urban standards (53.3%).
In particular, Giao Thuy district has been recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting advanced NTM standards. Xuan Truong and Truc Ninh districts have been reviewed and are completing their dossiers; it is expected that in the first quarter of 2025, they will be submitted to the Central Government for consideration and recognition as meeting advanced NTM standards in 2024. Nam Truc district is urgently completing the criteria and dossiers; it is expected that in the early second quarter of 2025, they will be submitted to the Central Government for consideration and recognition as meeting advanced NTM standards in 2024.
Hai Hau district continues to affirm its pioneering role with the pilot model of a model new rural district "bright - green - clean, beautiful for sustainable development" in the period of 2019 - 2025, achieving 11/14 targets, with a clearly renewed rural appearance, the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improved; many model new rural models at the village and hamlet levels have been formed.
Up to now, Nam Dinh has 529 OCOP products from 3 stars or higher, including 65 4-star products and 4 potential 5-star products.
