On the morning of February 24th (the 8th day of the first lunar month of Binh Ngo year), at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo ward, Nghe An province, the Launching Ceremony of the 2026 Tree Planting Festival was held with the theme "One green tree - One green future".
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Khac Than - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; along with representatives of Military Region 4, departments, branches, localities and a large number of people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - called on all levels, sectors, and localities to promote the Tet tree planting movement in 2026, associated with the green growth and sustainable development strategy. He emphasized the need to choose suitable native trees, focusing on the post-planting care stage, avoiding formalism.
Representing the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Standing Vice Chairman - said that forest protection is not only a tradition but also a solution to respond to natural disasters and climate change, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for people.
At the launching ceremony, delegates and forces planted 500 coconut trees along Cua Lo beach. The activity aims to create a tourism landscape, combining marine economic development with environmental protection.
The launching ceremony opened the movement to plant trees and forests throughout the province in 2026 and the period 2026 - 2030, towards the goal of building Nghe An green - clean - beautiful, and sustainable development.
