Effective coordination of Coast Guard, Navy, Fisheries Surveillance and Border Guard

Kien Giang - On January 14, in Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang), Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai - Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard led Inspection Delegation No. 1 of the Vietnam Coast Guard to work at the Command (BTL) of Coast Guard Region 4.

The delegation inspected the deployment of combat readiness and preparations for the 2025 Lunar New Year. The inspection showed that the unit had strictly followed the leadership and direction of the Vietnam Coast Guard on deploying and implementing combat readiness tasks before, during and after the Lunar New Year. It developed a comprehensive plan for all aspects of work to ensure combat readiness and organize soldiers to enjoy a warm, healthy, economical, safe and highly combat-ready Spring Festival...

Also this afternoon, at the Command of Coast Guard Region 4, the Vietnam Coast Guard held a conference to disseminate and assign tasks to forces participating in the inspection delegation to carry out the task of combating IUU fishing in the sea area bordering Vietnam - Malaysia - Thailand, combined with inspecting combat readiness and preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year 2025 of units in Phu Quoc, Tho Chu, Con Dao, and Vung Tau.

At the conference, the delegation and the relevant agencies disseminated the plan and purpose of the trip. Accordingly, along with inspecting the implementation of tasks of the anti-IUU functional forces in the field, the delegation also inspected combat readiness, wished a happy new year to the forces on duty at sea, and wished a happy new year to encourage fishermen working at sea.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai hopes that through the working trip, local authorities will grasp the current situation of fishing vessels violating the law, and from there, will have advice and proposals to the Steering Committee for IUU prevention and control at all levels to improve the effectiveness of IUU prevention and control. Determined to join hands with all levels, sectors and localities to remove the EC yellow card for Vietnam's fisheries industry.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Coast Guard Inspection Delegation extended New Year greetings to the Joint Command Center for the task of preventing and combating IUU fishing located at the Headquarters of Coast Guard Region 4.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai highly appreciated the effective coordination of the Coast Guard, Navy, Fisheries Surveillance and Border Guard forces after 1 year of establishing the command post. Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai hopes that the forces will continue to promote the achieved results, contributing to the joint efforts of ministries, departments and local agencies to remove the EC yellow card for Vietnam's fisheries industry.
