On October 23, Mr. A Duy Khanh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Plo commune, Quang Ngai province - said that the commune had submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee to soon have a plan to prevent and combat landslides and protect the lives of people in Rook Meta village.
During the storms in 2025, there is a risk of landslides in tarok Met village, affecting the lives, houses, properties and lives of 12 households with 54 people.
The provincial government has established a working group, coordinating with the People's Committee of Dak Plo commune and related units to inspect the phenomenon of cracked hills and mountains.
Thereby, it was determined that there was a crack about 515 cm wide, with an unknown depth, the length of the crack extending on the top of the dirt hill was about 200 m. At the foot of the hill, there is a residential area and an inter-commune concrete traffic route; behind the houses of households, many long, high-risk cracks have appeared.

The government has warned people not to travel and not to live in areas at risk of landslides. According to the survey, people's lives are still difficult; some households are eligible for support under the temporary house removal program in 2024-2025, some households have built solid houses.
According to Mr. A Duy Khanh, it is necessary to implement the solution of digging, excavating and lowering the slope, and building embankments to prevent landslides on the hillside at high risk.
"The commune is working with units to survey and determine the volume of excavation, excavation, lowering slopes, building embankments to prevent landslides... as a basis for developing an estimate to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and funding for implementation. It is expected that the entire project will have an investment of more than 100 billion VND, said Mr. Khanh.
