Da Nang students go through the road construction festival for highland villages

Da Nang - More than 100 union members and students have put aside holidays and volunteered to go to the highlands to build concrete roads and give gifts to people and students in difficult areas.

Throughout the April 30 - January 1 holiday for the past 5 years, more than 100 volunteers including local union members and Hand In Hand group students, Da Nang University of Education have participated in a series of pilgrimage charity activities to Ong Bon village, hamlet 5, Tra Giap commune, Da Nang.

Young people joined hands to construct a 70m long and 1.5m wide concrete road to serve the travel and production of the Ca Dong people. The project also has 2 solar light poles, worth 10 million VND, contributing to lighting up rural roads and ensuring security in the locality.

Not only building roads, the charity delegation also presented 60 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to particularly difficult households; donated 60 sets of school supplies and 150 meals for students.

The campfire night for cultural exchange between students, union members and local people has created more connection between young people in the plains and people in the mountains.

With a total budget of more than 100 million VND, the program not only brings new roads and new electricity to Ong Bon village, but also affirms the pioneering role of youth in building new rural areas, contributing to changing the face of the Tra Giap highlands.
