According to the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, after nearly 10 years of implementing Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo (12-term) on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", Soc Trang province has achieved many comprehensive and substantial results. Learning and following Uncle Ho has penetrated deeply into the awareness and actions of cadres, party members and people, contributing to building a clean and strong Party Committee, promoting sustainable socio-economic development.
One of the bright spots in implementing Directive 05 in Soc Trang is the model of learning by scoring. The Party Committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee all select 1 to 3 models suitable for their functions and tasks to focus on implementation. Thanks to that, many practical and effective models have been born and spread widely, creating a clear change from awareness to action.
In the economic field, prominent are movements such as building new rural areas, practicing thrift - increasing production, good farmers, linking value chains, supporting capital and startups for young people. These models not only help people increase their income but also arouse the spirit of self-reliance, overcoming difficulties and rising up.
In the field of culture - society, agencies, units and localities have built culture in offices, in hospitals and schools; strengthen discipline, administrative discipline, public ethics, uphold the sense of responsibility in handling work, contribute to building an administrative foundation to serve the people.
The Uncle Ho learning movement also spread among ethnic minority communities and religious organizations with many meaningful activities: mobilizing bridge construction, distributing rice to support poor households, preserving cultural identity, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.
From 2016 to the end of May 2025, the whole province has had 6,753 collectives and individuals commended and rewarded (including 1,845 collectives and 4,908 outstanding individuals).
Learning and following Uncle Ho also creates momentum to promote socio-economic development. Average income (GRDP) increased from 30 million VND/person/year (in 2015) to nearly 75.5 million VND/person/year (in 2025). The average growth rate in 2015 is 6%/year, and in 2025, the growth rate will be stable from 7.2-7.5%. The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) ranked 45th out of 63 provinces and cities (in 2015) to 35th out of 63 provinces and cities (in 2024).
