On the afternoon of September 27, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Cambodian Forward Tactical Command Delegation led by Vice Admiral Ly Hout, Commander of the Command, visited and worked with the Command of Coast Guard Region 4.
At the meeting, Major General Tran Van Luong - Commander of Coast Guard Region 4 expressed his joy and welcomed the delegation to visit and work at the unit. At the same time, he informed the delegation about some main features of the working environment of the Region Command and the political situation, traditions, history, culture and socio-economic development of Phu Quoc City.
In a friendly and sincere atmosphere, the two sides held a discussion and discussed the results of the implementation of the hotline communication mechanism signed between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the National Committee for Security and Maritime Affairs of Cambodia in recent times.
From December 2023 to present, the two sides have sent and received 8 letters of exchange related to illegal fishing vessels, fishing ground disputes; illegal entry and exit at sea; marine accidents, search and rescue, marine environmental protection; criminal violations, smuggling; and other related information on security, order and safety.
Vice Admiral Ly Hout sincerely thanked the thoughtful, respectful and warm reception of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command for the delegation, and emphasized the implementation of the hotline communication mechanism signed between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the National Committee for Security and Maritime Affairs of Cambodia to enhance exchanges, cooperation and mutual assistance, contributing significantly to building a peaceful, stable and developed sea area.
In the coming time, the two sides agreed to promote the achieved results, step up the implementation of information exchange on all contents according to the signed Mechanism. At the same time, they agreed to promote foreign exchange activities, visits and work in the fourth quarter of 2024 and 2025, to strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship, contributing to building a peaceful, cooperative, friendly and developed sea in the region.
