Awarding more than 3.5 billion VND in materials and seeds to support livelihoods for people in Nui Thanh, Da Nang

Da Nang - Defense Economic Group 516 (Military Region 5) handed over supplies and seeds worth more than 3.5 billion VND to 25 households in Nui Thanh commune.

On November 12, in Nui Thanh commune (Da Nang city), the Project Management Board of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction - Economic Group 516 for National Defense (Military Region 5) organized the handover of materials and breeding animals to households participating in the livelihood support model.

The program is implemented within the framework of the project "Diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models associated with national defense and security in 2025".

From a budget of more than 3.5 billion VND, the 516th National Defense Economic Group supported items including: building barns, breeding animals, breeding livestock feed and commercial chicken.

At the handover ceremony, 25 beneficiary households received 50 breeding cows (2 households each). Along with the breeding animals, each household is supported with 6 packs of animal feed and invested in building a barn with an area of 10 m2/ barn, worth more than 14.5 million VND/ barn. The total cost of supporting barns for 25 households is more than 364 million VND.

In addition to material support, technical staff of the 516th National Defense Economic Group directly instruct people on care and disease prevention processes, monitor the farming process and emphasize the development of cattle herds in the direction of reproduction to increase herds, creating a stable source of income.

The implementation of the model not only helps households have conditions to develop the economy and improve their income, but also contributes to improving the effectiveness of sustainable poverty reduction, creating long-term livelihoods for people in Nui Thanh commune.
