Hai Phong - On March 29, Do Son ward organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction and restoration of the Tran Temple historical relic.

Temple of Saint Tran - Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan (Tran Temple) built in 1824 (Minh Mang era), currently located in Che residential group, Do Son ward. The temple was recognized by Hai Phong City People's Committee as a City-level Historical and Cultural Relic on January 12, 2012 (Decision No. 57-QD/UBND).

According to the People's Committee of Do Son ward, Che mountain area (Van Son) from the 13th century was where Tran Hung Dao once stationed troops to support the king and organized a strategic withdrawal in the second resistance war against the Mongol Yuan (1285). To show gratitude for their great merits, the people built a temple at the foot of Che mountain.

Currently, the temple still preserves many precious artifacts such as idols, parallel sentences, great characters, incense tables, bronze bells..., becoming an important spiritual living space for local people.

Having gone through the ups and downs of time and the heavy impact of Typhoon Yagi in 2024, the temple has seriously deteriorated. With the spirit of "When drinking water, remember the source", the local government, Mr. Hoang Thien Hoa's family and people have unanimously determined to restore the shrine.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the Do Son ward government emphasized that relic restoration is a strategic goal for socio-economic development associated with cultural preservation, serving community interests.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Tran Temple is not only a simple construction activity but also a symbol of solidarity, joining hands to preserve the national cultural heritage of the people of Hai Phong. The completed project promises to become an important spiritual tourism highlight, contributing to promoting the development of the locality.

Previously, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1047/QD-UBND approving the Project to repair and restore Tran Temple relic, Do Son ward. The project is implemented on the basis of preserving the original value of the relic, repairing items: Tran Temple, guest house, ceremonial house; arranging a solemn and synchronous worship space. Total investment of more than 5.2 billion VND from socialization sources. Implementation time from 2026 - 2028.
