Da Nang - On July 17, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh worked with the border commune of La De on government operations and preparations for the first Commune Party Congress.

La De commune is a newly established commune on the basis of merging the two communes of La De and Dac Me, with a strategic position when bordering Laos through the Nam Giang international border gate.

Reporting at the meeting, Secretary of the Chau Van Ngo Commune Party Committee said that after the merger, the locality still has some difficulties and problems. The personnel apparatus still lacks many key positions. The facilities are also facing great difficulties when the current office is cramped, the self- movements of clean water are not guaranteed, there is a lack of public housing and office equipment such as computers and printers. The commune has recommended that the city pay attention to investing in building new headquarters, clean water systems, temporary public housing and having timely personnel recruitment mechanisms.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thai Binh City acknowledged the efforts to overcome difficulties of La De Commune in operating the two-level government apparatus. Regarding personnel issues, Mr. Binh oriented the commune to prioritize training and using local staff, those who are knowledgeable about the area and want to contribute long-term.

Regarding the development orientation in the new term, the Vice Chairman emphasized that in addition to maintaining strengths in forestry economy, forestry, and medicinal plant cultivation, La De needs to research and exploit greater potential from the border gate economy. This is a breakthrough direction, helping to change the socio-economic face of the locality.

Mr. Phan Thai Binh especially noted that the economic development process must always be closely linked to the task of ensuring national defense and security, maintaining border sovereignty. The upcoming Resolution of the Commune Party Congress needs to add important targets on administrative reform and digital transformation, while promoting propaganda to create consensus among cadres, party members and people, turning the Congress into a broad political activity.
