According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on the evening of May 24, the weather in Dien Bien showed light rain, but it did not reduce the sincerity of nearly a thousand people attending the Buddha's Birthday Great Ceremony at Linh Quang Pagoda, Thanh Nua commune.

At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Nhuan Thanh - Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) of Dien Bien province read the Message of Vesak Vesak 2570 of the Supreme Patriarch of GHPGVN sent to all monks, nuns, and Buddhists at home and abroad.
This year's message conveys a profound meaning, as the world is changing, changing many previously established orders, directly affecting people's lives globally.

It is in this context that the Buddha's teachings about compassion and wisdom under the light of affinity are not only solutions for building peace and building solidarity but also a positive source of life, a foundation for sustainable development.
This year 2026, Vietnam enters a new phase after rearranging administrative boundaries, consolidating personnel, amending and passing a number of laws with the determination to rise up and develop" - the message stated clearly.
The message also believes that when all policies take the people as the root and are for the benefit of the people, there will be harmony, consensus, and unity, and surely good achievements will be made.

Participating in the ceremony, Ms. Lo Thi Bac (39 years old, Kho Mu ethnicity, residing in Suoi Lu village, Na Son commune) - said: "This is the first year I have participated in a Buddha's Birthday program. Our village delegation has more than 10 members, traveling about 60 km to the pagoda, everyone is excited to pray for peace.
The Buddha Bathing ritual is a meaningful traditional ritual during the Buddha's Birthday season. The fragrant water poured on the kim thân of the newborn Buddha has the meaning of washing away greed, anger, and delusion, purifying the body and mind so that everyone knows to return to nurture compassion, awakening and wisdom in life.

Previously, the ritual of carrying the Buddha's palanquin was solemnly performed, expressing sincerity to the Buddha. The image of the Buddhist flag flying next to the national flag is a strong symbol of the spirit of "The Dharma always accompanies the nation".
A large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and ethnic minorities solemnly followed the Buddha's palanquin in a long procession, moving on a distance of more than 2 km to Linh Quang Pagoda.
