Thai words in Nghe An are recognized as National Cultural Heritage

Nghe An - The province has made efforts to encourage the dissemination and teaching of Thai in the area, contributing to the preservation of heritage.

On July 5, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 2191/QD-BVHTTDL on including Thai in Nghe An in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

According to this decision, the heritage is recognized as being in the category of Voice and Writing, currently used by the Thai ethnic community in many localities including: Thai Hoa town, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau districts, Que Phong, Tan Ky, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son. The recognition aims to contribute to protecting and promoting traditional cultural values associated with the daily life of the Thai people in the province.

The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies are assigned the responsibility of managing and developing a plan to preserve and teach Thai language according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.

According to Vice Chairman of Nghe An People's Committee Bui Dinh Long, over the years, Nghe An province has made many efforts to encourage the dissemination and teaching of Thai in the area, contributing to the preservation of this special heritage.
