Located on Nguyen Van Huyen Street (Nghia Do Ward, Hanoi City), the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology has long become one of the prominent cultural and tourist destinations of the Capital. With a campus of 4.5 hectares, this place is not only an exhibition space but also a destination for entertainment and exploration for tourists of all ages and nationalities.
Besides domestic tourists, the museum attracts a large number of visitors from many countries such as: France, USA, China, Korea, Japan... It is estimated that the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology welcomes nearly half a million visitors each year. It is estimated that this unit usually welcomes 1,000 - 2,000 visitors on weekends. Especially, on holidays or events, the museum can welcome from 10,000 - 15,000 visitors in 2 weekend days.





The museum space is divided into three main areas including the Bronze Drum Hall, the Kite Tower and the Architectural Garden. Each area has its own color, contributing to creating a diverse picture of the culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
At the Bronze Drum Hall, most of the space is dedicated to displaying artifacts such as jewelry, costumes, living tools, labor tools... of 54 ethnic groups. In parallel with modern projection technology, bringing a multi-sensory experience to visitors, not only "seeing" but also "feeling" the cultural life of each community.

The Architectural Garden is considered the area attracting the most visitors, because visitors have the opportunity to directly experience the living space of many Vietnamese ethnic groups such as the Ba Na and E De people,... Each house and kitchen preserves lifestyles and cultural stories through many generations.
Finally, the Kite Tower - a 4-story building with a kite-shaped design - symbolizes cultural connection. This is a place to display artifacts of Southeast Asian countries and some other regions in the world, showing the relationship of exchange and friendship between Vietnam and international friends.
