The Artistic Exchange Program Vu Lan - Filial Piety and Nation in 2024, organized by the Central Committee for Information and Communication of the Vietnam Buddhist Church, held at the Grand Opera House (Hanoi).

The Artistic Exchange Program is part of the welcome and approach to major events of the country in 2024.

Accordingly, the program Vu Lan - Filial Piety and Nation was selected to feature suitable content to honor the spirit of filial piety, humanistic traditions in society, remind successive generations, remember the kindness of upbringing and nurturing by grandparents - parents and ancestors, as well as repay the debt of gratitude to the great contributions of predecessors, heroic martyrs, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the country and nation.

Venerable Thich Gia Quang - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Church, Head of the Information and Communications Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Church, Head of the Organizing Committee of the program, said that Vu Lan is an important festival of Buddhism, a day of gratitude, filial piety to parents and grandparents.

The Vu Lan festival is not only a sacred religious festival, but also a festival of human relationships with special meaning, directing each person to the roots of the nation, returning to the principle of "drinking water and remembering the source" with ancestors. The Vu Lan festival has become a spiritual tradition of filial piety and gratitude, suitable to the principle of "repaying the debt of gratitude and fulfilling one's obligations" of the Vietnamese nation.

In addition to the program, the organizing committee has implemented many social welfare activities at localities or policy beneficiaries, individuals who have made significant contributions to the country...

Some notable activities include: Commemorating and lighting incense to pay tribute to Heroic Martyrs at the National Martyrs' Cemetery A1 Dien Bien Phu; Presenting 100 gifts at the "Living with the Motherland" program. Notably, in the 2024 Vu Lan season, the organizing committee presented a total of 5 billion VND in gifts to 10 families of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and wounded soldiers, war heroes, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the country and nation in Hanoi; Heroes of the Armed Forces, Outstanding Citizens of the Capital, and citizens who have made beautiful actions in society...
