On the afternoon of May 18, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province said that recently, at Hong Duc University (Thanh Hoa), the ceremony to award the Friendship Medal, the Labor Medal of Class III and the Labor Medal of the President of the Lao PDR to the school's collectives and individuals because of their excellent contributions to the cause of Lao Human Resource Education and Training.
The ceremony was attended by comrade Kham Pheng Xay Som Pheng - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Governor of Hua Phan province; leaders of Hua Phan province; leaders of Thanh Hoa province and a large number of cadres, lecturers, students of Hong Duc University and Lao students studying at the school.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Van Thi - Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Determining educational cooperation as a strategic task between the two Parties and the two States of Vietnam - Laos has been concretized in many cooperation programs between the two localities, especially Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan.
Accordingly, Hong Duc University is identified as the key unit in training high-quality human resources for Hua Phan province. Over the past 30 years, the school has received and trained more than 1,000 Lao students - who are cadres, civil servants, public employees, and students from Hua Phan, Xieng Khoang and some other provinces.
Striving to accompany the development of Lao education, Hong Duc University not only cares about the quality of teaching, but also focuses on taking care of the lives of students. In particular, the Hoa Phan provincial government has invested more than 7.2 billion VND (equivalent to about 17 billion VND) to build a dormitory in the school campus to ensure living conditions for Lao officials and students.
From this school, many generations of students have become key officials in the locality, actively contributing to the socio-economic development and maintaining the national defense and security of Laos.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party, State and People of Hua Phan province, comrade Kham Pheng Xay Som Pheng expressed his deep gratitude to Thanh Hoa province and Hong Duc University for always accompanying, sharing and helping the province in the cause of human resource education and training.
He emphasized: "To recognize the contributions of the school and teachers in teaching and caring for students in Hua Phan province, the province has proposed that the Lao Government award noble awards to the President of the Lao PDR".
At the ceremony, comrade Kham Pheng Xay Som Pheng awarded the Friendship Medal to the Hong Duc University; awarded the Grade III Labor Medal to Mr. Hoang Nam - former Vice Principal and Ms. Hoang Thi Mai - Vice Principal of the school; and awarded the Labor Medal to 4 other outstanding individuals.
Recognizing the achieved results, the leaders of Thanh Hoa province suggested that Hong Duc University continue to promote its pioneering role in international educational cooperation, especially in the current period of innovation and integration. The school needs to focus on improving the quality of staff and lecturers; innovating training programs and methods; actively applying digital technology; at the same time, enhancing practical activities to help students improve their professional capacity and professional skills.
Thanh Hoa province also requested Hoa Phan province to continue to closely coordinate, promote propaganda policies to attract students, and support input Vietnamese training for Lao students before going to study.
This Huan - Medal awarding event is a vivid symbol of special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries of Vietnam - Laos in general, between Thanh Hoa province and Hua Phan province in particular. The great, loyal and close friendship between the two Parties, two States and peoples continues to be nurtured and strengthened, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region.
