Bun cha nha tho
Having been open for sale for more than 100 years in Nam Dinh, Nam Thanh bun cha restaurant (also known as bun cha nha tho) in Hai Ba Trung alley, Nam Dinh city is a familiar dining address for many generations of diners.
The bun cha restaurant is an ancient house, stained with time, of the family of Mr. Tran Thi Chin (94 years old). According to Mr. Chin, the restaurant was opened for sale more than a century ago, and now it is the 6th generation that the restaurant has managed and sold bun cha according to a family recipe.
Unlike other bun cha restaurants, the 6-generation bun cha restaurant in Nam Dinh impresses with its signature grilled meat-based sausage. The restaurant opens from 11am - 7pm, with 7 people working hand and foot, always busy to serve diners. During peak hours from 11am - 1pm and on busy weekends, many people accept waiting half an hour to enjoy bun cha.

Bamboo shops
The traditional beef noodle shop passed down for three generations in Dong Son commune (Nam Truc district) also known as the bamboo-based beef noodle shop is a famous place to enjoy beef noodle soup in Nam Dinh.
Nam Dinh people or visitors from other provinces and cities, when passing through Provincial Road 490C, can hardly miss this famous pho restaurant. The restaurant's menu includes main dishes such as rare or cooked beef pho, pan-fried and hot pot, and gourd stew. Prices range from 30,000 - 50,000 VND/bowl depending on the type.

Also one of the delicious dining addresses that has existed for more than 30 years in Nam Dinh, the Mai Knead cake restaurant on Nguyen Van Troi Street, Nam Dinh City is only open for a few hours in the afternoon but is always crowded with customers.
The restaurant opens from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is usually out of stock in just the first few hours. According to the restaurant owner, to make delicious pillow cakes with crispy, golden crust, not salty, fragrant but less absorbed by oil, the family recipe is to make the crust unable to be revealed. Inside is the filling made from many different ingredients including meat, wood ear, bean sprouts, vermicelli, carrots, duck eggs...
In addition to the special cake crust that the restaurant owner did not reveal a secret to, when enjoying the pillow cake, Ms. Mai also has a sauce with a harmonious and sweet spicy flavor.
