Located on Nguyen Trung Truc street, Nom Bo Gia has long been a familiar restaurant to food connoisseurs and salad lovers.
The restaurant has been open for more than 10 years. Previously, the owner was "Dad Cuong" - who was still called "Dad" by regular customers. Most of the customers who visited the restaurant in the early days were students..., and because of their affection, they gave the funny restaurant owner a nickname. Currently, Mr. Quang Anh, a student of "Dad Cuong", has taken over the salad restaurant.
“The owner here directly taught me how to make this salad from the most basic steps. That is why, after he passed away, I continued making this special salad and the name of the restaurant was kept unchanged, Nom Bo Gia,” Quang Anh shared.
The restaurant's signature and most popular dish is still the "ta la" salad, which sells an average of 150 - 200 servings per day. It's called "ta la" salad because just by looking at it, there are 13 types of fillings. From dried beef, tender beef, throat, beef tendon, beef intestine, spleen to stomach, chicken gizzard, pork rind...
The most special thing in the salad is the fragrant, golden fried garlic cloves, spongy and sweet and spicy. All are mixed well in a bowl of sweet and sour dipping sauce.
According to the owner, the “ta la” salad is always loved by everyone, probably because of the restaurant’s special salad sauce recipe. The restaurant’s salad sauce not only has the usual vinegar and sugar, but also vinegar soaked from natural fruits made by the owner himself. Therefore, the restaurant’s salad has a natural sweetness that is not harsh.
Ms. Anh Tuyet (Cau Giay, Hanoi), a regular customer of the restaurant, shared: "The salads here have enough toppings, are well-seasoned, and the price is also very reasonable."
Ms. Van Anh (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), another customer, said: "My impression of the salad here is that the dressing is much more delicious than other restaurants."
The restaurant opens at around 2:30 p.m. and is busiest at 4 p.m. In addition to dried beef salad, the restaurant also serves spring rolls, banh bot loc, roasted birds, etc. Prices range from 6,000 to 30,000 VND. The downside is limited seating.
