Possessing a long coastline, Bau Trang national scenic spot and two rare natural freshwater lakes, Hoa Thang commune has long been considered one of the land areas rich in tourism development potential of Lam Dong. In addition, the locality also has great potential for developing renewable energy, green industry, and high-tech agriculture.
The announcement of the general plan of Hoa Thang commune and the zoning plan of Hoa Thang area recently is expected to open up a new development direction, making the locality a modern sea tourism city in the near future.
According to the newly announced planning project, the entire 32,000ha of natural area of Hoa Thang commune is oriented to develop according to a multi-functional urban model, combining tourism, services, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy and ecological conservation.
In the orientation to 2050, Hoa Thang will develop harmoniously between residential areas, coastal tourist space, agricultural and fishery production and typical ecological areas. The locality is also planned to become a new administrative center after arranging administrative units, with an expected population size of about 159,000 people.
According to Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Thang commune Nguyen Duc Hai Tung, realizing planning is the central task of the locality in the coming period. The commune will create favorable conditions for businesses and investors inside and outside the province to research and implement projects in accordance with development orientations.
The highlight of the plan is to simultaneously exploit the existing advantages of Hoa Thang. The locality also has conditions to develop resort products, natural experiences, agricultural tourism and green energy. This combination is expected to create diverse tourism products, extend the length of stay and increase the value of the destination.
The announcement of the planning is also expected to create a legal basis to attract investment in infrastructure, tourism and services, and at the same time effectively exploit the land fund, landscape and coastal advantages of Hoa Thang.
To put planning into practice soon, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the locality to urgently publicize the planning, helping people and businesses easily access information; and at the same time strengthen land management, construction order, and prevent illegal construction and land speculation.
Hoa Thang commune is facing the opportunity to form a new face. When the planning is implemented synchronously, the locality will not only expand the urban development space but also have more opportunities to become a unique sea tourism destination, connecting with the "Sea - Flower - Great Forest" product chain of Lam Dong province.
