According to data from the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, from January to the end of August 2026, the total number of visitors to Ha Long Bay reached 2,355,701.
In which, Vietnamese visitors reached 810,100, foreign visitors reached 1,545,601. Thus, international visitors accounted for the majority of visitors to Ha Long Bay in the first 8 months of the year.
The number of visitors to Ha Long Bay has fluctuated month by month. January recorded 301,773 visitors; February was 201,975 visitors; March reached 316,353 visitors; April reached 299,296 visitors; May reached 309,862 visitors.
June is the time when Ha Long Bay welcomes the highest number of visitors since the beginning of the year, with 396,934 visitors. In July, the number of visitors reached 305,724 and in August reached 223,784.
Among the total number of visitors mentioned above, there were 1,985,680 visitors and 370,021 overnight visitors. Visitors to Ha Long Bay from international super yachts reached 17,181.
In terms of the international market, Asian visitors accounted for the largest number with 1,105,558 visitors in 8 months. Of which, Chinese visitors reached 462,546, South Korean 122,763, Japanese 48,977, Taiwan (China) 98,563 and Indian 186,689.
European visitors reached 298,241, of which French visitors reached 50,072, German visitors reached 33,576. Visitors from the remaining European countries reached 214,593.
American visitors reached 93,232, including 65,478 American visitors and 21,444 Canadian visitors. Visitors from Australian countries reached 46,231, while African visitors reached 2,339.
Along with the increase in the number of visitors, the entrance fee to Ha Long Bay in the first 8 months of the year reached more than 638.8 billion VND. The fees collected in each month were 91.52 billion VND in January; 63.34 billion VND in February; 98.5 billion VND in March; 85.9 billion VND in April; 80.1 billion VND in May; 88.84 billion VND in June; 73.91 billion VND in July and 56.65 billion VND in August.
The amount contributed to the state budget in 8 months reached more than 487.77 billion VND.
