Nghe An - Ho Chi Minh City and northern and North Central provinces promote product, market and service ecosystem linkages to expand tourist flows.

On the afternoon of September 8, in Nghe An, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism coordinated with the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a seminar to exchange experiences in developing tourism products between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northern and North Central provinces.

Attending the program were representatives of state management agencies for tourism of Nghe An, Hue City, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Cao Bang, along with the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, local tourism associations, travel businesses, destination management units and tourism service providers.

At the seminar, the issue that delegates focused on discussing was how to create products that can connect Ho Chi Minh City - a large visitor market in the South - with northern and North Central regions.

According to delegates, linkage should not only stop at promoting individual destinations but also need to form a chain of products and services that are complementary, creating favorable conditions for businesses to build tours and extend the stay of tourists.

In which, the tourism association and travel businesses are identified as the forces directly connecting the market, surveying customer demand, building products and bringing customers to localities.

The parties also exchanged solutions to link the service ecosystem including transportation, accommodation, attractions, cuisine, entertainment and typical products of each locality.

One of the directions of interest is to better exploit the flow of tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces to the North Central region, and at the same time build appropriate programs to bring tourists from the North and North Central regions to Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces.

Connection is expected to help travel businesses have more new products, localities expand customer markets and gradually form inter-regional tourism routes instead of developing individually.

At the program, localities and businesses also introduced new products and destinations; exchanged experiences in building products suitable to market needs and improving service quality.

Through direct connection activities between management agencies, associations and businesses, the parties expect to create more opportunities for cooperation, build new tour routes and increase the exchange of customer flows between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northern and North Central provinces.

Through this, the unique strengths of each locality can be incorporated into common product chains, contributing to expanding tourism space and increasing the competitiveness of destinations in the market.
