- Highest temperature: 33-36 degrees, in some places above 36 degrees C; especially Lai Chau and Dien Bien 30-32 degrees C, in some places above 32 degrees C.
Cloudy, hot sunny day (except Dien Bien, Lai Chau), showers and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and night, locally heavy rain. Light wind. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Tourists coming to the Northwest should actively monitor weather developments, especially in the late afternoon and at night when the area is likely to have showers and thunderstorms.
You should bring thin raincoats, umbrellas and good-grip shoes, convenient when moving in wet road conditions.
Limit planning outdoor activities, trekking or moving through mountain passes in the evening and at night.
When there is a thunderstorm, avoid standing under large trees, near power poles, open areas or high points to prevent tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
If traveling by motorbike through mountain passes, tourists should reduce speed, maintain a safe distance and check the road condition after rain.
During the day, the temperature is about 33-36 degrees Celsius, so you should prepare drinking water, a hat and sunscreen when sightseeing outdoors.
The Northwest region has places where the nighttime temperature drops below 23 degrees Celsius, tourists should bring thin jackets, especially when staying or moving in the early morning and late at night.
In particular, if strong thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning or hail appear, priority should be given to finding safe shelter and temporarily stop outdoor activities.
