The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (July 7) in regions across the country.
During the day and night of July 6, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.
Especially the Northwest region experienced rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, common rainfall of 20-40mm, with heavy to very heavy rain in some places over 100mm.
During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms accompanied by extreme weather phenomena may affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
In particular, localized heavy rain increases the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
In the next 6 hours, the risk of flash floods, landslides and subsidence on slopes and small streams is warned in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La and Lao Cai provinces. People in risky areas need to closely monitor weather developments and proactively take preventive measures to ensure safety.
