The intensified cold air wave caused the temperature in the North to drop to the lowest since the beginning of the season.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this morning, January 7, cold air continued to affect other places in the Central Central region, then affected some places in the South Central region.

On land, Northeast wind level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.

In the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang City, the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of lightning bolts, hail and strong gusts of wind.

In the Northern region and Thanh Hoa, it will be very cold, with severe cold in some mountainous areas; the area from Nghe An to Hue City will be cold, with severe cold in some places.

The lowest temperature in this cold air wave in the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa regions is commonly from 9-12 degrees Celsius, mountainous and midland areas of the Northern Delta 6-9 degrees Celsius, high mountainous areas in some places below 3 degrees Celsius; Nghe An and Ha Tinh are commonly from 11-14 degrees Celsius; the area from Quang Tri to Hue City is 15-18 degrees Celsius.

This morning, the lowest temperature measured at Mau Son peak (Lang Son) was 2.7 degrees C, Moc Chau (Son La) 5.4 degrees C, Ha Giang (Tuyen Quang) 4.1 degrees C, Sa Pa (Lao Cai) 4.6 degrees C.

Hanoi area is very cold. The lowest temperature is commonly 9-12 degrees Celsius.

At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind is strong at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting at level 7, waves 2.0-3.0m high, rough seas.

The sea area from South Quang Tri to Dak Lak, the Northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) and the northern sea area of the Central East Sea area have strong Northeast winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8, sea waves 3.0-5.0m high, rough seas.

The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, the south of the Central and South East Sea areas (including Truong Sa special zone) has strong Northeast winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts at level 8-9, waves are 4.0-6.0m high, and the sea is rough.

Due to the influence of cold air, the Northern and Thanh Hoa regions are very cold, and the mountainous areas are harshly cold in some places. The Northern mountainous region needs to be wary of frost and frost.

Tourists can take advantage of hunting for ice in high mountain areas such as Fansipan, Mau Son peak... However, it is necessary to bring warm clothes and heat-retaining items when going out to ensure health.
