According to the latest weather forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from around the night of March 17, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region.
After that, cold air will affect the North Central region, the Northwest, the Central Central region and some places in the South Central region. On land, the Northeast wind will strengthen to level 3, coastal areas level 3-4, and gusting to level 6 in some places.
The Northern region and from Thanh Hoa to Hue will continue to be cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North and North Central regions will generally be from 14-17 degrees Celsius, in the high mountains of the North, some places will be below 10 degrees Celsius; Quang Binh to Hue will generally be 17-19 degrees Celsius.
The Hanoi area is cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is generally 15-17 degrees Celsius.

From early morning on March 18, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind will strengthen to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.0-3.0m high. The North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) has strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3.0-5.0m high.
The Central East Sea area and the sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas; waves 2.0-4.5m high. The sea area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa and the western sea area of the South China Sea (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) will have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas; waves 2.0-4.0m high.
Due to the influence of the strengthening cold air, the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate to heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
