Where is Quan Lan Island?
Quan Lan is an island with a total modest area of only over 11km2, located in Bai Tu Long Bay in Van Don special area, Quang Ninh province.

Moving to Quan Lan
Departing from Hanoi, visitors can take a private car or sleeper bus, limousine to Ao Tien port (Van Don, Quang Ninh). Ticket prices range from 400,000 - 600,000 VND/person/time. The bus company has many continuous trips, visitors should proactively book tickets early and choose the right time.
When arriving at the port, tourists buy high-speed train tickets to Quan Lan island, there are 2 parking ports for everyone to choose from. One is Ao Tien - Quan Lan, ticket price 400,000 VND/person/trip, ticket to the port is 50,000 VND/person.
Travel time is about 1 hour. The two are Ao Tien - Minh Chau, ticket price 360,000 VND/person/trip, ticket to the port 50,000 VND/person. Travel time is about 45 minutes.
Coming to Quan Lan Island, to conveniently travel on the island, visitors can rent a self-driving motorbike or a package of electric vehicles, about 1,500,000 - 2,000,000 VND according to the schedule suitable for each group.
The rental price for motorbikes is 200,000 VND/day for manual motorbikes, 250,000 VND/day for scooters, with a half-day rental price. All parties give away free parking at homestays and hotels.

What to play in Quan Lan?
After a rather tiring time drifting at sea, visitors should rest a little before sightseeing, swimming and taking photos. On the island, there are countless beautiful places waiting for visitors to explore.

The people of Quan Lan island are famous for their long tradition of catching seafood, the seafood here is extremely delicious. Visitors can enjoy seafood right at the beach, at resort hutes after playing, but ask about the price carefully so as not to be "ripped off". Some quality seafood restaurants with public prices on the island are Tuan Tuyen, Tuyen Doan, Linh Thanh, Hai Yen, Amazing BBQ...
To save costs, visitors can wake up early to go to the seafood market, or the food stores opposite Quan Lan communal house to prepare them themselves. In particular, Quan Lan jellyfish is a must-try dish.

Note, there is no large gas station on Quan Lan island, you have to buy bottled gas at a grocery store for 50,000 VND/chai of 1.5 liters. The road to the windy border is quite dangerous, you need to travel carefully, especially for families with young children.
