From May to November every year, when the upstream water has not yet flowed, the downstream area of Tri An Lake will gradually dry up, revealing vast land and gentle water flows through the lake.
At this time, Tri An Lake has become a familiar destination for locals and tourists from near and far with attractive rustic activities: fishing, catching fish, treating mussel in the open air.
On weekends, families take their children to the area at the foot of Ma Da bridge to experience the mustard care activity. Children are covered in mud, scratching the sky, catching fish, immerse themselves in nature and stay away from electronic devices, TVs or phones during hot summer days.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Ha (a resident of Tri An commune, Dong Nai province) shared: "On holidays, I take the children here to treat the mussel. This is both a useful natural experience activity and helps children understand more about the lives of people around the lake. Although it is covered in mud, everyone is very excited".
After only about 3 hours, Ms. Ha's family had harvested more than 20 kg of fresh mussel.
Along both sides of the water flowing at the foot of Ma Da bridge, dozens of people gathered, some tended to the mussel, some fish. In addition to the experienced tourists, many people are familiar with the labor force, who come to the lake every season to make a living. The tools for making the dish are very simple - just a basket, a scissor and the patience to soak in water are enough for people to bring in dozens of buckwheat buckwheat per day.
Ms. Tran Tri Xuyen (residing in Tri An commune, Dong Nai province) shared: "I have been doing this job for several years now, taking a basket every season to treat it. Each session, if I were lucky, I could treat 30 kg of mussel. Then, take them to the market or sell to acquaintances. This year the time to make mussel is longer than every year".
Each dry season on Tri An Lake is not only an opportunity to make a living for people, but also brings an interesting experience in nature.
