Opened on November 1, the Vietnam Military History Museum has quickly become a place that attracts many tourists to visit and learn about the glorious past history of the nation. Below are important notes for visitors to refer to before checking in at the museum.
Opening hours
The Vietnam Military History Museum is open every day of the week, from 8:00 to 11:30 and 13:00 to 16:30. However, the Museum is closed on Mondays and Fridays.
Ticket price
Vietnam Military History Museum offers free admission to visitors from November 1 to December 2024.
Sightseeing activities
The Vietnam Military History Museum covers an area of 386,600m2, preserving more than 150,000 artifacts, including 4 national treasures and many valuable artifacts. The museum includes an outdoor exhibition area with artillery, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks... and an indoor exhibition area divided into 6 themes based on historical timeline.
The museum is still under construction so visitors can only visit the first floor. When completed, the Vietnam Military History Museum will have 4 floors above ground and 1 ground floor.
In addition, the Vietnam Military History Museum also applies 3D mapping technology or 3D movies to bring visitors the most vivid and realistic experiences.
Rules when visiting the museum
1. Absolutely obey all instructions of Museum staff.
2. Dress politely, no swearing, no smoking.
3. Buy full tickets.
4. Send luggage and bags to the right place.
5. Do not bring weapons, explosives, flammable substances... into the Museum.
6. No eating or drinking in the exhibition area.
7. Do not lean on the glass, touch or climb on the exhibits.
8. Be aware of maintaining public hygiene, protecting artifacts and public works.
9. Visitors are responsible for any damage caused to the Museum.
10. Visitors taking photos or filming must consult with Museum staff to know the permitted range. Do not use flash to take photos of Museum artifacts.
11. Agencies, units, schools... coming to visit in groups, please contact to register in advance.
Other notes
Visitors can rest and eat in the new urban area near the museum.
The museum toilets are located on the left side of the entrance hall. Or, go straight inside, through the hall, and you will find the toilets on the right, at the end of the passage.
Currently, the museum is often crowded with visitors, telecommunication signals may be affected. Visitors should pay attention to protecting personal property.
In addition, visitors should also wear flat shoes because the museum area is quite large and requires a lot of walking.

If traveling by personal vehicle, visitors will travel along Thang Long Avenue for about 30 minutes to see the Vietnam Military History Museum with its massive, outstanding architecture.
The motorbike and car parking area is located on the left side of the museum (looking from the Avenue into the museum). Visitors can enter the main entrance (facing Thang Long Avenue) or the side gate from the area to see the motorbike and car parking area.
