Located in Nagaizumi town, Shizuoka, about an hour from Tokyo, Minuscule Park has an entrance, a small chair and a pile of grass. The whole park has enough space for one person to sit.

The park was established in 1988 to use the vacant road space, according to Shuji Koyama, a team leader at the Town Construction Management Department.
Minuscule Park has only recently been measured by Guinness World Records (GWR) and recognized as the world's smallest park.
According to Mr. Koyama, the idea of "building" the park came after a town employee visited Mill Ends Park in Portland (Oregon, USA), which previously held the record for the world's smallest park.

In an effort to officially declare the title of the world's smallest park, Nagaizumi town has brought a professional surveyor to the park to ensure the small park meets all of the requirements of GWR - ensuring the dossier for Japan.
Mr. Koyama expressed his pride when the strange creative town officially made history.
