The beautiful images of the sea of clouds on the top of Tang Quai Pass, Muong Ang District, Dien Bien Province, have attracted much attention when shared on social networks in recent days. Many tourists and young people in Dien Bien were present from 4-5 am to hunt for clouds.
About 40km from the center of Dien Bien Phu City, Tang Quai Pass is an ideal destination for those who love to explore nature. With fresh air, majestic landscapes and frequent appearance of floating clouds, creating an extremely poetic picture.
Ms. Lo Thi Quy (a resident of Dien Bien Phu City) shared that she woke up at 4am to travel with a group of close friends to Tang Quai Pass - a place known as "cloud paradise".
“We left at 4am and it only took us about an hour to get here. Because the road is very convenient compared to other cloud hunting spots, even families with small children can easily come here to enjoy this beautiful scenery,” said Ms. Quy.
At the top of Tang Quai Pass, visitors can look down to Ang Nua Valley - where thousands of coffee trees are hidden in a sea of white, fluffy clouds.
Ms. Bui Thu Trang (a tourist from Hanoi) said that the view was very beautiful, sitting and watching the clouds with a light breakfast and a cup of hot coffee was a wonderful experience for her on this trip to Dien Bien.
“From 4am, when the city was still immersed in darkness, we started our journey to hunt for clouds. At around 5am, the group was here. We were so lucky to witness the moment the sun woke up from the sea of white clouds. It felt like being healed,” said Ms. Trang.
According to photographer Nguyen Trung Kien, the period from October to January of the following year is the best season for cloud hunting at Tang Quai Pass. Especially in November and December, almost every day there will be a dense sea of clouds.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hai - owner of a coffee shop on the top of Tang Quai Pass shared that the ideal time to hunt for clouds is from 6am to 7:30am. However, if you want to admire the sea of clouds while they are still hazy, visitors can come from 5am. Around 6am, visitors can witness the moment the sun rises above the sea of clouds.
In Dien Bien, with its high mountainous terrain, many valleys and large temperature differences between day and night, it is an ideal condition for seas of clouds to appear. In addition to Tang Quai Pass, visitors can also hunt clouds at Chop Ly Peak, Keo Lom Commune, Dien Bien Dong District. Or Pha Din Pass - one of the "four great mountain passes" of the Northwest region.
