Located approximately 15km from the city center of Điện Biên Phủ, Uva hot spring is situated in Uva village, Noong Luống commune, Điện Biên district. The water temperature in this spring is particularly unique, with an average temperature ranging from 76-84 degrees Celsius throughout the year. When bathing in this water, locals and tourists can simply mix it with cold water to achieve the desired temperature.
According to local residents, the name "Uva" originates from the pronunciation "Ú vá," where "ú" is translated as "grandmother" and "vá" means "cradle." According to legend, the Uva hot spring is the physical form of a fairy lying in a cradle...
Mr. Bùi Đình Quang, Manager of Uva Hot Spring Tourist Area, stated that the hot spring water is rich in minerals, has a high salt content, and contains a high concentration of Brom (over 40mg/liter), with a slightly alkaline pH of 7.14.
With a stable temperature above 80 degrees Celsius, the hot spring water contains pure and rare minerals, which can help alleviate joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and various skin conditions.
In addition, the hot spring water is also used to create a unique dish: "hot spring eggs." This is a popular local specialty that many tourists enjoy. To make this dish, one simply needs to choose fresh eggs and submerge them in the natural hot spring water.
"The soaking process takes approximately 10 minutes, resulting in a soft and smooth white and a rich, creamy yolk, creating a unique and unforgettable flavor" – Mr. Quang said.
Visiting Uva, tourists can immerse themselves in the warm and soothing hot spring water, relax their bodies and minds. Having bathed in this hot spring multiple times, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hòa (53 years old, Điện Biên Phủ city) stated: "Each time I soak in the hot spring water, I feel extremely relaxed and rejuvenated."
To allow tourists to fully enjoy the benefits of the hot spring water, the hot spring tourist area has built various types of bathing rooms, ranging from individual rooms to family rooms. The prices of these rooms vary from 150,000 to 500,000 VND per room, catering to a wide range of customers.
In addition to bathing in private rooms, tourists can also choose to soak in the outdoor hot spring pool for 20,000 VND per visit, enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding mountains and forests.
With an abundance of pure and mineral-rich hot spring water, Uva has become an ideal destination that tourists should not miss when visiting Điện Biên, a historic and tourism-rich province.
