These days, the lotus lakes in Chieng Sinh, Chieng Coi, Ta Khoa and Chieng Mai enter their most beautiful time of the year.
Amidst the deep green mountains and rice fields, the pink color of lotus flowers creates a unique highlight, attracting people and tourists to come to admire the scenery and take photos.


About 5km from the provincial administrative center, Ban Hip lotus pond, Chieng Sinh ward is a familiar destination every summer.
On an area of more than 2ha, about 7,000m2 is planted with lotus, the lake surface is covered with green leaves and the lotus flowers are showing off their colors.
Mr. Lo Van Chim, owner of the lotus pond, said that his family started growing lotus from 2018. In addition to selling flowers, seeds and lotus roots, each blooming season, the lotus pond also welcomes visitors with a ticket price of 20,000 VND/person, creating additional income for the family.
Ms. Lo Thi Thien added that this year the lotus blooms earlier and more evenly than every year. From the beginning of June to now, the lake has welcomed about 200 visitors. Photo and costume rental services contribute to creating more jobs and income for the family.


In Hon village, Chieng Coi ward, Na Phum eco-tourism spot also becomes bustling when the lotus pond is in full bloom. Water troughs, fishing huts and surrounding rice fields create a space imbued with the highland village spirit.
Mr. Tong Duc Nhan, owner of Na Phum eco-tourism site, said that lotus was planted from 2021, usually starting to bloom from the beginning of June. In addition to admiring lotus, visitors can also enjoy cuisine and experience the indigenous Thai ethnic culture.


In Ho Sen village, Ta Khoa commune, Hua Nhan lotus lake is about 1ha wide, of which nearly 6,000m2 of water surface is planted and cared for by the local H'Mong ethnic people.
Every June, when pink lotus petals bloom in the primeval forest, creating a pristine, poetic scene and becoming a destination attracting many tourists.
In recent years, the locality has invested in concrete roads, lighting systems and organized cultural activities around the lake to effectively exploit the potential of community tourism.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngat - To Hieu ward - shared: "The lotus pond space is very fresh, the lotus flowers bloom beautifully, helping us have satisfactory souvenir photos and feel the peace between mountains and forests, nature".
Meanwhile, Ban Buot lotus lake, Chieng Mai commune, has a pristine beauty. Lotus flowers are not as large as in the plains, but the petals are slender, the fragrance is gentle and stands out on the green background of the lake surface, creating a unique attraction for tourists.

According to Mr. Quang Minh Dat, a photographer in Chieng An ward, since the beginning of June, the number of customers booking photos with lotus flowers has increased sharply.
Many tourist attractions invest in bamboo bridges, small boats and costume rental services, helping tourists have more beautiful shooting angles.

The lotus season in Son La lasts until the end of July. Not only creating more livelihoods for people, the lotus ponds in the mountains and forests also contribute to diversifying tourism products, becoming an attractive destination for tourists every summer.
