Gia Lai is a province with great potential for renewable energy and wind power fields are currently a tourist attraction.

Since 2020, many large-scale wind power projects worth thousands of billions of VND have begun construction in Gia Lai province. To date, Gia Lai has a total of 16 wind power projects, with a capacity of over 1,200 MW.

Sky-high “windmills” in districts such as Chu Prong, Dak Doa, An Khe town, Kong Chro… have become attractive tourist destinations, especially for young people.

Le Mi Na, a student at Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh), shared: “The vast wind power fields, next to the vast tea, rubber, and potato gardens, create a strong impression and attract tourists. When looking down from the plane, the peaceful and majestic wind power fields appear hidden in the thin mist.”

While developing renewable energy, Gia Lai plans to build a wind power field to create a new tourist destination that is environmentally friendly and has natural landscapes.

At Bau Can tea hill, Chu Prong district, a trillion-dong power project stands tall next to the famous yellow trumpet tree flower road.

Nguyen Thi Lan, a student at Pleiku High School, shared: “On weekends, my friends and I often ride our motorbikes to the wind farm to take souvenir photos, camp, and relax.

When the wind turbine blades stop spinning, from afar it looks like hundreds of swords rising to the sky. Before nature, humans are so small.

This project has a total expected area of 66.04 hectares with a total investment of about 3,500 billion VND.

The 103.5 MW wind power plant project in Mang Den, Kon Plong district not only helps Kon Tum have more tax revenue for the budget but also creates landscape and develops tourism.

The space and landscape created by wind power must be in harmony with the natural tourism environment and mountains and forests. Local authorities hope to create a new location on the tourist map.
