According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Phuong - Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, this is the first cluster of linked products of the city's tourism industry to announce products under the program "Each district has a typical tourism product". These tourism products not only attract domestic tourists, but also spread the cultural values ​​of Ho Chi Minh City to international friends.

In addition, the tourism industry of Ho Chi Minh City also develops products linking provinces and cities to enhance the experience for tourists and promote each destination. In particular, linking the development of river tourism is the orientation for developing tourism products of Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee stated that developing river tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta is one of the breakthroughs in the regional linkage program to build unique and highly competitive inter-regional tourism products, aiming at sustainable development for the whole region.

There is a lot of potential, but up to now, river tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta has developed slowly, not commensurate with the potential, there are not many river tours exploited. Many tours have very few customers.

To develop this tour, localities need to research and propose solutions to effectively develop river tourism and specific tourism products of the region.
