Investment in this service has skyrocketed since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the target audience is people with sleep deprivation who have a real need to rest. Over the past 12 months, Park Hyatt New York has opened Bryte Restorative Sleep Suite, a spacious row of rooms with many amenities to enhance sleep, while Rosewood Hotel has launched S sleep method refreshments, aiming to promoting rest.
In London, Zedwell is the first sleep-on hotel. They launched this service in 2020 with rooms equipped with excellent soundproofing systems. In Portugal, bed manufacturer hastens has established the world's first Hästens Sleep Spa Hotel, a boutique hotel with 15 rooms, in Coimbra city.

So why is sleep suddenly becoming such a big focus for the tourism industry?
Dr. Rebecca Robbins, a sleep researcher and co-author of the book "Sleep for Success!" said: Previously, hotels often offered programs that affected the rest regime. For example, popular meals, sports activities, or concerts all take away time and energy from guests, and they have to pay the price by reducing sleep hours. And now, resort organizers as well as customers have realized that the important thing is health and happiness".
A study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine showed that 40% of more than 2,500 adults admitted that their sleep quality has declined since the start of the pandemic.
People are paying more and more attention to sleep during the COVID-19 period, says Dr. Robbins. It is possible that post- Covid conditions make their bodies weak, and there are also economic or work difficulties that make them stressed and have more difficulty sleeping.
Tremper and meditation psychologist Malminder Gill also believes that anxiety, depression, or erratic mood can cause you to lose sleep and become weak. Gill collaborated with a hotel in London to create a special service. Accordingly, visitors are provided with a meditation recording and a list of pillows of different sizes to choose from. Guests can also freely choose the type of blanket, tea, and room scent to create the most relaxing feeling.
The luxury hotel brand Six Senses offers many sleeping programs, from three to seven days or more, at some businesses, while Brown's Hotel, London, has just launched the 'Forte Winks' program. The two-night experience is specially created to help visitors "go to sleep peacefully".
