In the bustling atmosphere of the golden season of the highlands, the 2025 Mountain terraced Rural Festival held in Thuong Coc commune has become a unique cultural destination for the Muong people in the Northwest region.
The commune-level cultural - tourism event was held for the second time, following the success of the first festival season in 2024.
Taking place on October 25 and 26, 2025, the festival is an opportunity to honor the creative labor value of the people of the mountainous areas, while promoting the tourism potential and cultural identity of the Mien Doi region, affirming the enduring vitality of the Muong people here.

According to Lao Dong, since early morning on October 25, thousands of people and tourists have been eagerly gathering at the festival site of Dom Bai hamlet to attend the opening ceremony. The sound of the gongs and gongs resounds in the space of ripe rice, blending with the joy of the seasonal festival, creating a colorful picture of the highlands.

The new rice celebration ceremony - the traditional cultural and religious feature of the Muong people was solemnly recreated with a procession, a ceremony to offer offer offerings to thank the gods and ancestors for their blessing for the good harvest. More than 200 Muong gong artists sang together, creating a sound that was both sacred and proud.


In addition to the festival, this year's festival promises to be exciting with many unique cultural and sports activities such as: cultural exchanges, folk songs, and solstice; volleyball competitions, stage races and many folk games imbued with Muong identity.
In addition, OCOP booths displaying typical local agricultural products and products have attracted a large number of visitors to visit and shop, contributing to promoting the brand of the Thuong Coc land.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Duong - Chairman of Thuong Coc Commune People's Committee - emphasized that the festival is an opportunity for the locality to promote its image, connect tourists inside and outside the province, aiming to make tourism a spearhead economic sector. The commune strives to build Thuong Coc into a "identity - Safety - Friendliness" destination on the Phu Tho tourism map.

Thuong Coc is currently formed on the basis of merging three communes: Mien Doi, Van Son and Thuong Coc old, with a natural area of over 58 km2, population of over 18,000 people, of which the Muong people account for the majority.
The traffic system is connected to neighboring areas through main routes such as: National Highway 12B - Direct connection with National Highway 6, Ho Chinh Minh Trail to National Highway 1A; Mien Doi area borders Tan Lac, Muong Thang, Muong Vang, Nhan Nghia communes... creating favorable conditions to expand trade and develop inter-regional tourism.
